At last night’s school board meeting, Harvard High School’s 2017 Accounting Bowl Winners were recognized.
McHenry County College held its 15th Annual High School Accounting Bowl on Friday, April 21, 2017. The purpose of this contest is to reward, honor, and encourage outstanding high school accounting students in area high schools. Top accounting students from eight area high Schools competed including Alden-Hebron, Crystal Lake South, Harvard, Johnsburg, Marengo, Marian Central, McHenry, and Woodstock.
Accounting I team members were Catherine Austin, Jacob Cobb, Cristian Escobar, Nancy Hernandez, Alfredo Herrera, Isaiah Jimenez, Holly Kruckenberg, Brett Lehman, Andrea Luna, Lizette Martinez, Kayla McCloud, Luis Mercado, Cole Miller, Kelly Riley, Alexis Robles, Ramiro Sanchez, Rodrigo Silva, Dylan Stephens, Ryan Stephens, and Aileen Valdez.
Accounting II team members were Hannah Baird, Josh Fiegel, Samantha Gallegos, JD Gerhardt, Emily Hartje, Dylan Hildreth, Kailah Lewis, David Mercado, Diego Mercado, Nathan Mykytiuk, Alex Wiltshire, and Elizabeth Wright.
Harvard’s Accounting I team placed 1st in the team competition. Individual place winners were: Catherine Austin (1st), Kelly Riley (2nd), Cole Miller (3rd), Jacob Cobb (5th), and Cristian Escobar (7th).
Harvard’s Accounting II team placed 2nd in the team competition. Individual place winners were: Elizabeth Wright (1st) and David Mercado (5th).
Additionally, each school had one student play Jeopardy. Harvard’s representative, Josh Fiegel, won.
