District Beginnings:
In 1954, Harvard Community Unit School District #50 was organized, combining numerous country schools. District 50 encompasses 106 sq. miles in McHenry and Boone Counties.

Academic Excellence
Develop an environment for academic excellence focusing on:
•Student achievement at all levels, as measured by more than standardized testing

Create & implement a strategic communications plan that:

Fiscal Responsibility
Manage D50 revenues and expenses in order to:
•Maintain a balanced budget
•Identify new sources of revenue and cost savings
•Balancing fiscal responsibility with academic and facility priorities
•Continue to work with the City of Harvard, McHenry County, and other appropriate units of government to enhance revenue sources for District 50

 

Facilities
Facilities represent a major investment and asset of D50.
•Develop a plan to ensure current facilities are operated and maintained so that all available space is used for the best use and to maximum advantage
•Evaluate planned and anticipated growth within the School District, using the Naperville Study to project growth of the student population
•Revise the demographic study and implementation plan using appropriate software and other available sources to reflect anticipated growth
