Hurricane Harvey has caused immense devastation, and many in the Harvard CUSD 50 community have family and friends directly affected by the storm. To provide support for those in need, Harvard Cusd 50 Schools will collect monetary donations for the United Way Relief Fund.
On Thursday, September 7th, at 10 a.m. all five schools in Harvard will take a few minutes from class activities to collect donations from students, staff, and members of the community.
Teachers are also using time this week to incorporate Harvey into lessons and general discussions with their students. From the science behind the storm to the human stories of hardship and survival, the events of the last few weeks provide a unique learning opportunity and a chance for students to help the communities affected.
