Harvard Jr. High students and staff raised over $1400 for Toys for Tots through a Takraw Tournament and a partnership with Huntley Barbell.
Takraw is a combination of kickball and volley ball, and the tournament was held round robin style in which teams from each grade got to play each other. The final two teams squared off today in a best out of three match. Wonder Pets ended up winning 2-1.
The teams that participated donated money to the fundraiser, as did all of the spectators. Huntley Barbell also helped in the fundraising process by collecting money at their gym.
Great job on everyone’s part. Best of all the money stays in the community and helps Harvard, not some place you’ve never heard of.
