Today is School Board Members Day. Board members donate their time with the goal of improving education for all children of our district. Last winter, the Board built a deliberate Strategic Plan to address the issues facing our community. You can read the plan in detail here:
From the Illinois Association of School Boards:
Nearly 6,000 men and women serve on local public school boards in Illinois, governing the education of 2,041,779 students in 4,163 public schools across 855 school districts, and overseeing combined budgets of more than $31 billion. School board members are elected by their local communities during a consolidated election held the first Tuesday of April in odd numbered years. They serve four year terms.
The Harvard CUSD 50 School Board holds their monthly public meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Central Administration Center.
