The Board of Education commissioned a demographic study. Completed in November, a link to the complete study is below. The work is by renowned demographer Dr. John Kasarda and summarizes the historical and recent demographic changes to our district, providing projections for each grade through the 2028-2029 school year.
As housing development patterns change and demographics fluctuate, it’s essential for our district to have a longterm plan for prospective student enrollment. The study will help guide future decisions for our district.
Pages 25-27 discuss enrollment projections. Dr. Kasarda explains the reasons for continued enrollment growth and provides projections for three scenarios: The lowest possible enrollment anticipated (Series A), the most likely enrollment (Series B), and the highest anticipated enrollment (Series C).
While other school districts are shrinking, our district is growing.
