Harvard students received the precious gift of book ownership thanks to the incredible work of Bernie’s Book Bank.
On Monday the non-profit once again donated over 10,000 books to Harvard CUSD 50 students. Students from Washington School, Crosby Elementary, Jefferson Elementary, and Harvard Junior High will receive pre-sorted bags of books throughout the week. Each bag contains six books leveled for readers based on their age. The organization’s mission is to increase book ownership among children.
After receiving their bags, students have time to trade with classmates and review the new books. The distribution was the third time Bernie’s Book Bank has donated to the district since last spring. They plan to return to the district next fall.
