Crosby Elementary welcomed current and retired military personnel to their annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Monday, November 11.
Principal Kathleen Ferguson addressed families and shared that students had been learning about the service of veterans.
“In their classrooms, our Crosby kids have worked hard, as they are learning about who veterans are and what they have done for our country,” Ferguson said.
Students enjoyed breakfast with their veteran family members, and then the second-grade class sang a selection of songs.
Under the direction of music teachers Spencer Kibler and Katia Schmitt, over 200 second-graders performed songs honoring attendees. During the song, “Salute to the Armed Forces,” veterans were asked to stand during their respective service branch’s song.
Student artwork, honoring veterans, was also on display throughout the school.
