On Wednesday, February 12, Harvard High School paid tribute to local veterans with their annual Veterans Assembly.
Junior Bryce Fiegel spoke about the importance of honoring Veterans and all those who have made sacrifices for our country.
Senior Haily Hill recited the poem “Veterans Day.”
Sgt. Ryan Curry spoke to fellow Veterans and students about his experiences in combat and at home, and the sacrifices he and his friends made as Marines. Curry is a Purple Heart recipient and PTSD warrior.
He created Beneath the Beard to educate the world on the effects of veterans coping with traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other combat-related mental health concerns.
The Harvard High School band and choir performed songs honoring Veterans throughout the program. The assembly ended with students playing “Taps.”
