Kindergarten Screening @ Crosby

April 10, 2019

Kindergarten screening/orientation is April 10 from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Crosby Elementary School. The kindergarten screenings are by appointment only. At registration we will ask each family, not currently enrolled in the Washington Preschool Program, to sign up for a screening time. The screenings last about 20 minutes, but please plan to spend a little extra time at the school as we will have kindergarten info for you to take home. The screenings are a way to gauge your child’s current level of development. We will use the information obtained from the screenings as a guide to best plan for each child as they enter Crosby.

If you have any questions, please contact Crosby Elementary at 815-943-6125.

Kindergarten Registration Starts Next Week

March 7, 2019

Crosby Elementary School hosts kindergarten registration Wednesday, March 13 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Monday, March 18 from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. for families of children entering kindergarten in the fall.

During the event, parents will receive information about physicals, immunizations, transportation, the district’s dual language program, and they will be able to apply for a library card from Harvard Diggins Library.

To be eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2019-20 school year:

  • Children must be five years old on or before September 1.
  • State law requires an original or certified copy of a child’s birth certificate at the time of registration.
  • Families must provide three proofs of residency (such as a tax bill, utility bill, lease agreement, or a voter’s registration card).

A registration fee of $115 will be collected. If a family is unable to pay the full fee at registration, a four-period payment plan can be set up with an initial down payment required at registration.

For students not currently enrolled in the Washington Preschool Program, an additional screening and orientation event will be April 10 from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. Qualified families will be asked to sign up for a screening time during the March registration. The screenings last about 20 minutes and are a way to gauge each child’s current level of development. Information obtained from screenings is used as a guide to best plan for individual students as they enter Crosby.

All registrations and screenings will take place at Crosby Elementary Schoollocated at 401 Hereley Drive in Harvard.

For more information contact Crosby Elementary at 815-943-6125.
