CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Megan Sanchez, Data & Information Technician at Harvard High School
"I grew up in the area and graduated from North Boone High School. After high school, I attended McHenry County College, focusing on Early Childhood Education, which helped lay the foundation for my work in schools."
"I’ve worked in the Harvard School District for five years in a variety of roles, but it was a very special person I worked alongside at Jefferson Elementary who encouraged me to take a leap and move to the attendance office at the high school. She told me, “Megan, you have so much more to offer this district,” and her hard work and teamwork inspired me to always go the extra step for families, students, and staff. Once at the high school, my admin team encouraged me to step into the Data & Information Technician role, recognizing my attention to detail and eagerness to help. This position has been a perfect fit, and I wouldn’t be here without the amazing people who’ve pushed me to grow along the way."
"I love the problem-solving part of my job. Every day is a little different—whether it’s helping staff with a system, troubleshooting an issue, or digging into data to figure out why something isn’t adding up. Knowing that my work behind the scenes helps teachers and students succeed makes it really rewarding."
"Hands down, it’s the people. There’s a strong sense of teamwork here, and everyone truly cares about students. It’s a supportive environment where people are always willing to help each other, which makes coming to work enjoyable every day."
"I think positivity starts with the little things—being kind, patient, offering help, or even just checking in with someone. Listening, lending a hand, or sharing a quick laugh can go a long way. Positivity is contagious, and those small gestures can help create a supportive, welcoming environment for everyone. And honestly, you can’t underestimate the power of a good sense of humor!"
