Harvard High School Music Director Dr. Korey Coffer Nominated for National Outstanding Music Educator Award

HARVARD, IL — Harvard Community Unit School District 50 (CUSD 50) is proud to announce that, on behalf of the IHSA Music Advisory Committee, Harvard High School Band Director Korey Coffer was selected as the statewide nominee for the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Outstanding Music Educator Award.

Starting in 1989, the national Outstanding Music Educator Award recognizes high school and collegiate music educators whose contributions have significantly impacted their respective state high school associations. Koffer was selected as the sole Illinois nominee for the recognition. He will also be nominated for national recognition later this year.

“Korey is a great ambassador for our music program here in Harvard and the state. He goes above and beyond to ensure that our students receive an excellent learning experience,” says Harvard High School Principal, Carl Hobbs. “Because of his dedication and commitment to student learning, many students have pursued music as a career. Congratulations, Dr. Coffer.”

In addition to this award, Korey recently earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership.

Harvard CUSD 50 would like to congratulate Dr. Coffer for his recent recognition and thank him for his dedication to CUSD 50’s music programs. #HarvardRising
