Mrs. Spraker's class is working on collaboration and communication. Here, they each are writing about how to solve for the area of composite figures. Then, they talk to each to work on a group consensus on the correct answer. Way to go teams!

Ms. Mercado & Mrs. Garay’s classes have been exploring the properties of matter. We measured the distance of different shoe types when they were pushed forward, and we got a chance to create our own monster toy model. Students were very creative and used their knowledge. Great job second grade! 🥼🥽

Mrs. Williams class used the Reveal online platform to create a composite picture using two dimensional shapes.

Students in Ms. Serrano's class participated in making a pizza led by Ms. Bailey! Students made personal pizzas as part of a hands-on lesson focused on building speech! Students also worked on taking turns and waiting with Ms. Clare! During the activity, students practiced requesting ingredients, taking turns, following directions, and engaging in a group activity. :)

Students in Mrs. Nulle’s class have been learning how to count mixed coins. To practice, they visited different classroom “stores” and used their money skills to purchase a food item from a provided list.

During Character Education with Mrs. Christofalos, all grade levels have been focusing on the power of gratitude! 💛
Students have been reflecting on what gratitude means and why it is important. Kinder & 1st grade students played pass the grateful heart to expressing things they were grateful for and why. 2nd & 3rd Grade students collaborated together to create word chains and gratitude posters. It was wonderful to hear students thoughtfully share about the people, experiences, and opportunities they appreciate. Classes worked together toward their grade-wide goals, practicing skills aligned with the Illinois Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Standards — including self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship skills.
We are so proud of our students for showing kindness, appreciation, and thoughtful reflection. Ask your child what they are grateful for today! 🌟

Busy learners in action!
Ms. Kalivoda and Mrs. Fusillo’s classes have been writing dictados, building oracy and collaboration skills, and enjoying hands-on experiments.

❓🌟 Did you know that pushing and pulling objects can teach you a lot about speed and direction? 🏀💨

In our science class, the Kindergarten kids explored how objects move on ramps. Each experiment was fun and full of discoveries while learning through play 😄🔬.

Spring Picture day is TOMORROW!

Ms. Mercado & Mrs. Garay’s students started off a new bundle in science 🧪 We are now learning about the properties and states of matter. Students loved beginning our new unit with an exciting experiment 🎈

✏️Second graders have been busy in Mrs. Eade’s class! Students can be seen peer editing their writing drafts with friends. Also, students have been enjoying our measurement unit measuring things in our classroom! 📏

Thank you to all of the volunteers from the high school for helping with our kindergarten carnival, the HHS cheerleaders had so much fun playing games with the incoming kinders!🤍🍎🐝🎡🎠

Happy 100th Day of School!

Students in the Tulip Room are writing in their very own journals. They are writing about their favorite character in the story, "Who Did It" to express their thoughts and ideas about the story.

Mrs. Garay and Ms. Mercado's classes are working hard on their problem solving skills using addition and subtraction. Students worked with a partner to draw pictures to represent the problem before creating a two-step equation. We can accomplish so much when we collaborate with each other!

Students in the Lily Room are enhancing their literacy skills during center time. Students used waffle letters to build CVC words, keyboards to type heart words, an alphabet floor puzzle to learn the letters of the alphabet, and a letter craft to practice the letter of the week!
