☘️Mrs. Eade's second graders worked hard on constructing leprechaun traps! We didn't catch any leprechauns, but we sure had fun working together. We first created a story on how we would catch a leprechaun. From there, we created a draft of our plan for our traps. Then, once their plan got the stamp of approval they chose their materials and got building! ☘️ #CrosBees #Collaboration

WICOR in action! Students in Mr. VanFleet's class practiced their oracy skills by implementing the strategy Lines of Communication. They also reviewed content by doing a Quiz-Quiz-Trade activity. Ms. Clark had a super engaging book tasting experience with first graders during Library class! At Starbooks, they got to "taste" books related to community helpers that are later going to be used in their research projects.

The third-grade students of Ms. Woodman and Ms. Pinilla have had a fantastic time in Science during their unit on Weather and Climate! They had a blast creating tornadoes in bottles, learning about engineering, and solving challenges with limited materials. One of the highlights was planning, designing, and building a solution to prevent flooding in New Orleans caused by Hurricane Katrina. It’s been an exciting and educational experience for all of them!
¡Los alumnos de tercer grado de Ms. Woodman y Ms. Pinilla han tenido un gran tiempo en Ciencias durante su unidad sobre Tiempo y Clima! Se divirtieron mucho creando tornados en botellas, aprendiendo sobre ingeniería y resolviendo desafíos con pocos materiales. Uno de los momentos más destacados fue planificar, diseñar y construir una solución para prevenir la inundación en la ciudad de Nueva Orleans causada por el huracán Katrina. ¡Ha sido una experiencia emocionante y educativa para todos ellos!
Ms. Differding's class has been very busy! Students worked collaboratively to create a group poster of things we can do in different seasons. Then each group presented their work to their classmates. The class explored defining and non-defining attributes of shapes. Partners worked together to create different shapes with straws. #CrosBees #HarvardPOG #Collaboration
STARS students in Ms. Serrano's class, read two stories from Unique Learning System, "All Around the Sun" and "African Safari". Students completed adaptive reading and writing activities while using their communication devices to answer comprehension questions. Students also completed worksheets matching the planets! It was a fun filled week :)
