Harvard Community Unit School District 50 is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Goetz as the district's new Director of Public Relations and Communications.
Goetz brings more than 15 years of communications experience to Harvard CUSD 50, with nearly 10 years of cumulative leadership in K-12 and higher education settings. Most recently, he served as Communications Director for South Bend Community School Corporation in Indiana, where his work earned him recognition as one of three finalists for the Indiana School Public Relations Association's (INDSPRA) 2024-25 Communicator of the Year award, a prestigious honor recognizing the state's top K-12 communications professional.
In his role with South Bend Schools, Goetz led a comprehensive enrollment marketing campaign, oversaw a district-wide website redesign, directed crisis communications, and promoted the district through engaging and positive storytelling. His previous leadership roles include Communications and Media Relations Director for Racine County, Public Information Officer for the California Department of Transportation, and Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Marketing at Humboldt State University.
"I'm passionate about storytelling and finding authentic ways to share the success stories of students, educators, and staff," said Goetz. "My focus will be on discovering meaningful ways to celebrate Harvard's achievements and engage our entire community."
As Director of Public Relations and Communications, Goetz will lead district-wide communications and community engagement initiatives, overseeing media relations, digital communications, and strategic messaging to support the district's mission and goals.
