CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Isaac Ryczek, Art Teacher at Crosby Elementary
"I grew up in Round Lake Beach, Illinois where I attended Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, Illinois. It was at Grant where I discovered my passion for Art and Football. I was able to continue both of my passions into college. I attended Rockford University where I played Football and majored in Art."
"My dad is also a teacher. Before wanting to become an educator, I had my goals set on either Football or Art. It was my dad who insisted that I had a backup plan. He didn't push teaching, but through the example he set, I felt a calling to teaching as well. This is now my 5th year teaching and my 5th year in this district."
"I love being able to take what I know and pass it onto students. I absolutely love Art, and to be able to see students find love for Art too makes it all worth it."
"The years that I have been here, I have been able to create lifelong relationships. I am so happy that I am able to come to work and have friends here that support me."
"My advice for everyone is to find your passion. I am so lucky to be able to have a job where I get to do Art everyday. But even outside of the workplace, it is important to find time for yourself too. "
