CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Sara Miguel Huete, Kindergarten Spanish Dual Language Teacher at Crosby Elementary🌟
"I was born and raised in Leganés, a city just south of downtown Madrid, the capital of Spain. I completed my early education there, and attended college in the heart of the city. While at Escuni, I had the opportunity to meet incredible people, all of whom went on to become amazing teachers themselves and remain an integral part of my life. Growing up and studying in different parts of the city gave me the chance to experience diverse environments while always staying connected to my roots."
"I don’t believe I can attribute my desire to become a teacher to one specific person or experience. However, even from a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with children. Later in life, when I discovered my passion for the English language, my professional calling became clear. I am grateful to my parents, who have always supported and encouraged me. Thanks to them, I was able to follow my dreams and become who I am today. This year marks my second year working within the Harvard School District and my sixth year as a teacher overall. Previously, I taught English in Spain, and now I am fortunate enough to be able to teach in both languages on any given day."
"The most rewarding aspect of being an educator is the opportunity to shape the children I work with into tomorrow’s brightest little leaders. Challenging them and watching them grow both academically and personally is my favorite part of the job. Supporting them throughout their learning journey, instilling in them the confidence they need to succeed, and seeing them thrive once they leave my classroom is so fulfilling."
"What I love about Harvard is how welcoming and supportive it has been, especially as I came from so far away. From the very beginning, I felt valued, and the transition was seamless thanks to the incredible people here."
"Lead with kindness and gratitude. Small gestures, a positive attitude, and offering support to one another can make a difference. Positivity is contagious, and by focusing on the good and uplifting others, you create an environment where everyone can thrive."
