CUSD 50 Staff Spotlight: Sharon Reisenbuchler, Fourth Grade Teacher at Jefferson
"I was born in Southern California but grew up in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in the Northwest Suburbs. I am a product of both private and public schools."
"I have ALWAYS wanted to teach! I would line up my stuffed animals in rows on my bed and teach them how to read. My favorite teachers were my Elementary school teachers. Growing up I had several challenges that required DCFS support. My music teacher saw that I loved to talk and sing. He encouraged me to join the band! My 3rd Grade teacher pushed me to learn times tables, learn sign language, and made me feel cared for in so many ways. I have been teaching in the district since 2019. "
"I enjoy collaborating with colleagues on best practices or the latest Gerry Brooks video to keep us all laughing through the tears. I just moved from 1st grade to 4th grade. Watching my first graders bouncing into Jefferson as 4th graders and seeing how much they have grown in their confidence; especially in their language skills is absolute magic!"
"Having worked at both Crosby and Jefferson schools, I have had the privilege of working with educators that truly believe in our kids and show up for them every day!"
"Positivity is not about ignoring the challenges or hardships you may face; it's about developing a mindset that allows you to approach those challenges with optimism, resilience, and a belief in your own ability to handle them.”
