Parent and child at registration event

Registration for the 2026-27 school year opens Thursday, April 9, for Harvard Community Unit School District 50 families, and the district is making it easier than ever to get students enrolled.

Beginning April 9, registration links will be live at cusd50.org. Families can complete the process entirely online through the PowerSchool Mobile app, visit their child's school directly, or join us for a special registration event at Crosby Elementary School from 5 to 7:30 p.m. that evening.

The Crosby event will be a one-stop opportunity for families who want hands-on assistance navigating the enrollment process. District staff, including technology and bilingual support, will be available to answer questions and help complete registration.

One important change this year: families will not need to bring proof of residency documents to registration. Harvard CUSD 50 now verifies residency electronically through a secure third-party vendor that cross-checks addresses against public records. For most families, this process happens automatically — no paperwork or hassle.

If the district is unable to confirm an address electronically, staff will reach out directly. Families with unique housing situations are encouraged to contact their school's front office. All conversations will be handled with care.

What Families Need to Know

Returning students: Log in to PowerSchool using your existing username and password to complete re-enrollment. If you forgot your login information, please contact your child's school for assistance.

New students: Enrollment links will be available beginning April 9. Families will need to provide:

  • An original or certified copy of the child's birth certificate (required by state law)

  • Completed health, dental, and vision exam forms

  • A completed Home Language Survey (available during the online registration process)

Health exam requirements: Illinois state law requires health, dental, and vision exams for students entering kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade. Incoming 2nd-grade students must also complete a dental exam. Health forms and state requirements are available on the district website.

Harvard CUSD 50 looks forward to supporting every family through the registration process. Join us April 9 at Crosby Elementary from 5 to 7:30 p.m. or register online at cusd50.org or the PowerSchool Mobile app beginning that same day. Questions?
