Ten Harvard Community Unit School District 50 educators have been nominated for McHenry County Educator of the Year honors, with an awards banquet set for Saturday, May 9, at Boulder Ridge Country Club.
The Regional Office of Education recognition program celebrates outstanding teachers, support staff and administrators from across McHenry County who go above and beyond for students and their school communities.
This year's D50 nominees are Maggie Binz, Jade Boyd, Brandan Brock, Alexa Cunningham, Angie García, Jennifer Jowers, Lindsey Nicky, Wilmer Partida, Bianka Serrano and Sharon Velazquez Flores.
"Our educators pour their hearts into this community and into every student they serve," said Superintendent Dr. Brandon C. White. "Seeing 10 of our own nominated for this honor is a reflection of just how extraordinary our D50 staff truly are. They are very deserving of this recognition."
The Educator of the Year program is administered by the McHenry County Regional Office of Education and honors individuals who demonstrate excellence in education, meaningful relationships with students and a lasting commitment to their profession.
Harvard D50 congratulates all 10 nominees and thanks them for their dedication to Harvard students and families.
