"I grew up in Harvard, graduating in 2000. I went to college at Augustana College and then received my masters in education from National Louis University."
"I have been inspired by every single one of my teachers! I remember them all and each one has left a lasting impression. When I first started teaching my mentor was my 5th grade teacher Mr. McEnaney. This is my 19th year in the district. It is such a privilege to work alongside some of the teachers I had while I was in school."
"I love the connections that we get to make with students and their families. I love watching students celebrate their growth and find joy in a productive struggle. I love when each student finds something that makes them feel proud of themselves and showcases their pride. I love listening to the things kids have to say, they have great ideas, wonderful questions and observe so many things."
"I love the Hornet Pride that we develop throughout the years. As a smaller district it is wonderful to know the staff, families and watch former students continue their educational careers. I love the traditions that we hold on to. At Jefferson we have parents that are bringing their children to the school and ask if we still have the kickball tournament. Keeping opportunities like this alive is something I really appreciate and means a lot to our community."
"There are hard days and there are great days. The hard days offer an opportunity for something better to come, an opportunity to learn, and the opportunity to reset. The great days give you the opportunity to celebrate, cherish and beam with pride. Hold tightly to all those days. When you get the chance to talk to a kid, at any age, really listen to them. Treat them as an equal in the conversation. Sometimes an adult needs to have a conversation that comes from the heart of a kid, they are amazing!"
