No Remote Learning on Emergency Days

Over the past few months, our district considered the idea of using remote learning on emergency weather days. You may remember receiving a letter explaining the decision to use remote learning on emergency weather days and a proposed schedule for those days, too.

After further consideration, the Harvard CUSD 50 Board of Education and administration have decided to forego remote learning on emergency weather days. Emergency weather days will be true “snow days,” and students will not have any academic responsibilities.

If school is canceled due to emergency weather, a makeup day will be added to the end of the school year. Due to the extended winter break, two additional school days have already been added to this year’s school calendar. April 18 and May 27 will now be school days for all students.

Please remember that we also have a two-hour delay schedule if weather conditions are supposed to improve by mid-morning.
Delayed Start Schedule:
           ● Washington:
                ○ No morning session
                ○ Afternoon 11:50 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.
            ● Crosby Elementary: 10:10 a.m. – 3:05 p.m.
            ● Jefferson Elementary: 9:55 a.m. – 2:55 p.m.
            ● Harvard Jr. High: 10:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
            ● Harvard High School: 10:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
With the amount of turmoil the pandemic has caused everyone, taking a day off of school seems like the right decision if severe weather affects our ability to make it to school. Thanks for your support of our students and our school district!
